  • God’s instruments

But you are the ones chosen by God, chosen for the high calling of priestly work, chosen to be a holy people, God’s instruments to do his work and speak out for him, to tell others of the night-and-day difference he made for you—from nothing to something, from rejected to accepted.

    1 Peter 2:9

You don’t have to be a pastor or a missionary to do priestly work. God can use you right where you are, as His instrument to do his work and speak out for him, to draw other’s closer to him right at your office, school, home, church or neighborhood! Wherever you are and whatever you do every day, do it as unto the Lord. Show people God’s love through your actions, let other’s see God in you by the way you treat them. By responding in kindness when treated wrong, by loving other’s even when they don’t deserve it, ESPECIALLY when they don’t deserve it, that will really let other’s see God’s love in you.

  • Troubled?

    Psalm 54:7 (Contemporary English Version)
7You have rescued me from all of my troubles

We all have troubles. But God is ALWAYS there to rescue us from EVERY trouble. Notice that this verse says “you have rescued me from ALL of my troubles” it doesn’t say from one trouble or a couple of them it says from ALL troubles. So no matter what troubles you, the Lord will help you through it. Whatever you’re worried about right now, pray about it and ask the Lord for him, knowing He WILL help you!

  • Don’t sin by letting anger control you

Don’t sin by letting anger control you.
Think about it overnight and remain silent.
    Psalm 4:4-5 (New Living Translation)

We all get angry sometimes, that’s just part of being human. But the key is not to let our anger control us, but to control our anger.
Hold your tongue and think and pray about things overnight, instead of replying to someone right away in anger. Remain silent, pray about things, then talk to them after you have had time to cool down and really think about pray about things. That way you won’t be as likely to say something that you regret!

  • Don’t be afraid or discouraged…

Don’t be afraid, for I am with you.
Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you.
I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.

    Isaiah 41:10 (New Living Translation)

We all feel afraid or discouraged sometimes. The next time you feel that way, remember that you aren’t alone. God is with you, GOD, the creator of heaven and earth!!! There is NOTHING that is too difficult for Him. No problem too big or too small. And He will give you the help and strength that you need to accomplish anything…he will HOLD YOU UP, when you’re too weak to even stand.

  • The TRUE history of St.Patrick

Happy St.Patrick’s Day!!! St. Patrick’s Day is known as a day of celebration and festivities, but very few people know the TRUE story of St. Patrick and who he really was.

Being of Irish decent and having a fondness for all things irish, I’ve decided to share with you the TRUE facts about St.Patrick and why we celebrate St.Patrick’s Day.

St.Patrick was actually one of the first Christian missionaries in Ireland.

Originally from Britain, St. Patrick was kidnapped by Irish immigrants when he was 16 years old, and and sold as a slave where he worked in Ireland for 6 years. While Patrick worked there as a shepherd, he developed a deep faith in God, sometimes praying up to 100 times per day.

After six years the Lord spoke to Patrick in a dream and helped him escape from his captives and return to Britain.

He then served as a deacon in Britain, just as his father and grandfather did. After many years, he returned to Ireland to begin what is now known as a very successful Christian missionary campaign. After his success, he was named the patron saint of Ireland.

It is said that Patrick used the shamrock(a 3 leaf clover) as a symbol to explain the Trinity to Unbelievers, i.e., how God is One God in Three Persons.

Patrick would hold up a shamrock and challenge his hearers, “Is it one leaf or three?” “It is both one leaf and three,” was their reply. “And so it is with God,” he would conclude. One of the leaves represented the Father, the second the Son and the third the Holy Spirit.

March 17 is said to be the day that Patrick passed away, and so each year on this date people celebrate in rememberence of him and the many people he brought to the Lord.

If you’d like to learn more about St.Patrick, you can read his autobiography, which is called Confession.

  • God isn’t playing hide & seek.

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.

James 4:8 (New King James Version)

God isn’t playing hide and seek. He WANTS you to find Him, to spend time with Him, to LOVE Him. He is always with you, ready to spend time with you, always thinking of you…whenever you think of Him, he’s ALREADY thinking of you…waiting for you to think of Him, to acknowledge Him…to spend time with Him. The more time you spend with God, the closer you will become to him. Just like when you want to get to know a person better, you spend more time with that person. It’s the same with God. If you want to know him better…simply spend more time with him. In His word, the bible, in prayer, in worship, in praise, in silence before Him. Draw near to God, and He truly will draw near to you.

  • Slipping, falling, or upset?

The minute I said, “I’m slipping, I’m falling,”
your love, God, took hold and held me fast.
When I was upset and beside myself,
you calmed me down and cheered me up.

    Psalm 94:19 (The Message)

We all slip and fall sometimes…we’re humans, we’re going to make mistakes and slip up sometimes…but thankfully God is always there to catch us when we start to slip and fall and when we’re panicking because we’re in the middle of a big mess we made when we fell, God calms us down and helps us clean up the mess that we made and even cheers us up and gives us our joy back. So if YOU’RE in the middle of a giant mess or if you’ve started to slip and fall and made a mess of things, rejoice in knowing that you aren’t alone, and that God will help you get out of that mess you’re in and hold you and surround you in His love, calming you down and giving you peace.

  • God has plans for YOU!

The Lord will work out his plans for my life—
for your faithful love, O Lord, endures forever.

    Psalm 138:8 (New Living Translation)

God has plans for you. YOU. He created you, you are his masterpiece, his work of art…He has a purpose for you and a reason that He created you. He has PLANS for you! And He will work those plans out. Our lives are kind of like a puzzle that God is constantly working on putting together, and won’t be finished till the day we leave this earth. We’re all a work in progress! And sometimes we try to grab the puzzle pieces and force them into place ourself but they won’t fit because we try to put force them into the wrong place when we try to do it our own way without surrendering everything to God. Commit yourself and your plans to the Lord each day and you will succeed, because when God’s plans become your plans, that is true success!

  • Don’t worry about what to say…

Don’t worry about what you will say. You will be given the right words when the time comes. But you will not really be the ones speaking. Your words will come from the Holy Spirit.

    Mark 13:11 (CEV)

Ever worried about what to say? Next time pray and ask the Holy spirit to speak through you, to be a communicator and interpreter between you and whoever you’re speaking to. Remember you’re not alone, the holy spirit is with you, and always willing to help! He can give you the words to say even when you don’t have a clue what to say… Thankfully he has wisdom and knowledge that we ourselves don’t. Sometimes all we have to do is ask, and be willing.

  • The real source of wisdom and strength

But God is the real source
       of wisdom and strength.

    Job 12:13 (Contemporary English Version)

We can all use more wisdom and more strength, every day that we live on this earth!  God is the REAL SOURCE of wisdom and strength. Go to him daily and learn from Him what true wisdom and real strength is. Spend time with God every day, in his word, the bible, in prayer, in worship, in quiet time with Him. Spend time with God every day and you really will gain more wisdom and strength, and you’ll renew it every day the more time you spend time with Him each day! So make spending time with God each day your top priority, number one on your list each day, and you won’t regret it!
