  • Love isn’t selfish

    Love isn’t selfish
       or quick tempered.
       It doesn’t keep a record
       of wrongs that others do.

1 Corinthians 13:5 (Contemporary English Version)

Love isn’t selfish. Think about that for a minute. In our society today there are so many divorces and why is that do you think? Selfishness. Our society makes love “all about me” instead of “all about you”. Love isn’t selfish. Love is selfLESS. Putting other’s needs above our own and serving others. Not demanding our own way or demanding to be served. Our society says “Love is giving 50/50, you give half I give half” but true love is giving 100 percent with out expecting anything in return. That is true love. That’s the kind of love God has shown us. He loves us even though we have done nothing to deserve His love. His love isn’t based on our actions, it’s based on the fact that He loves us simply because He chooses to. Love like that.

  • He gives the REJECTS his hand

He gives the REJECTS his hand and leads them step – by – step. Psalms 25:9 MSG

It doesn’t matter if the whole world has rejected you, God still loves you and will still accept you, no matter who you are or what you have done, no matter what mistakes you’ve made in the past. God still loves you and will accept you and be there for you with open arms. And we should do the same and love people that the rest of the world calls a “reject”..the unlovable people need love the MOST. So show someone God’s love today, someone that the rest of the world ignores, show them you care, and in that they will see Gods love in you.

  • He stilled the storm to a murmur

He stilled the storm to a murmur, and the waves of the sea were hushed.
They rejoiced when the waves grew quiet. Then He guided them to the harbor they longed for.

Psalm 107:29-30 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)

Sometimes we go through storms…disasters…where we lose loved ones or our home or things…and other times we go through not a physical storm but maybe a storm in other areas of our life like financially or in a relationship. Whatever kind of storm you are going through right now, remember you are not alone. God is with you and will help you make it through the storm, guide you to that harbor of safety that you long for! Just keep your eyes on Him.

  • Why we don’t think the same way…

God has given us his Spirit. That’s why we don’t think the same way that the people of this world think.

    1 Corinthians 2:12

The holy spirit often nudges us when things aren’t right. Shows us what is right and wrong. Gives us that bad feeling that something isn’t right. Helps us think differently then the rest of the world. What the rest of the world says ok isn’t always ok with God. So LISTEN to that nudge, when the holy spirit is trying to tell you something wrong don’t just ignore the holy spirit but truly listen. Remember we are in the world but not of it – so if there is no difference between you and the rest of the world take a look at your life and what you need to do differently and what you may need to get rid of in your life.

  • Never be lazy in your work, but serve the Lord enthusiastically.

Never be lazy in your work, but serve the Lord enthusiastically.

    Romans 12:11

It’s so important for us to serve the Lord, and not just because we’re “supposed to” but enthusiastically and joyfully! God has blessed us each SO much the least we can do is serve Him. If you aren’t serving in your local church I encourage you to start doing so, it’s such a blessing to serve other’s. Not only does it bless the people that we are serving, but we are also serving GOD! It truly is a blessing to BE a blessing. So bless someone today. Serve someone today, and in doing so, serve God.

  • Hatred stirs up quarrels, but love makes up for all offenses.

Hatred stirs up quarrels, but love makes up for all offenses.

    Proverbs 10:12 (New Living Translation)

There are times that we will be offended. Humans are humans and no one is perfect, sometimes our toes will get stepped on and we will be offended. But instead of hating people that offend us and starting up quarrels with them, we should instead respond in love. Love truly does make up for all offenses. So next time someone offends you – respond in love – and see what happens.

  • God rescued you from a dead-end life

Your life is a journey you must travel with a deep consciousness of God. It cost God plenty to get you out of that dead-end, empty-headed life you grew up in. He paid with Christ’s sacred blood, you know. He died like an unblemished, sacrificial lamb. And this was no afterthought. Even though it has only lately—at the end of the ages—become public knowledge, God always knew he was going to do this for you. It’s because of this sacrificed Messiah, whom God then raised from the dead and glorified, that you trust God, that you know you have a future in God.

    1 Peter 1:18-21 (The Message)

This passage explains things far more clearly then I ever could. Jesus paid the price for our sins, took the blame for our sins, so that we could be considered worthy of spending eternity in heaven. Take a minute to thank Jesus for dying for you, for the pain and suffering He went through is far greater then we can even imagine. And because of Him, we now have a future in God.

  • Walking in the dark?

Once again Jesus spoke to the people. This time he said, “I am the light for the world! Follow me, and you won’t be walking in the dark. You will have the light that gives life.”

    John 8:12

Ever feel like you’re walking in the dark? Like you can’t see what’s ahead of you and every day you’re stepping into the unknown. We can’t see what the future holds for us, but God can. And when we walk with Him each day, He shines light into the darkness, clearing the path ahead of us. He is our purpose, the reason we live! And when we realize that, realize our life isn’t all about us, it’s all about HIM, the light of the world! It’s when we realize that, that we will truly be walking in the light.

  • What the bible says about your parents

Listen with respect to the father who raised you,
and when your mother grows old, don’t neglect her.

    Proverbs 23:22 (The Message)

Sometimes we don’t always see eye to eye with our parents. Maybe you don’t agree one everything, but you can still respect your parents even if they don’t agree with you about everything. Remember, they raised you, and they love you, despite your many flaws. So respect them, and don’t neglect them when they grow old, take care of them just as they took care of you when you were young.

  • Suffering

The Lord also keeps safe those who suffer. He is a safe place in times of trouble.

    Psalm 9:9 (New Life Version)

We all through times of suffering or trouble. If you’re going through a time like that right now or when you do in the future, turn to the Lord. Let Him be your safe place in times of trouble. Turn to Him. Run to Him. Lay all of your burdens down at his feet – you don’t have to carry those burdens yourself. Give them to God and ask Him for help – and he WILL help you – for He loves you more then you can even imagine. Let Him be your safe place in times of trouble.
