  • Wise or foolish?

    Wise people think before they act;
fools don’t—and even brag about their foolishness.

    Proverbs 13:16 (New Living Translation)

It's always wise to think before you do anything. It truly is foolish just to do anything without thinking about it first, even if whatever you're doing seems small...everything we do makes us who we are...even the small things. So really think about your actions and what you're doing every day....are you thinking about what you do before you do it or do you just do whatever you want to whenever you want? Don't be a fool - THINK before you act.

  • The love of money causes all kinds of trouble.

The love of money causes all kinds of trouble. Some people want money so much that they have given up their faith and caused themselves a lot of pain.

1 Timothy 6:10 (Contemporary English Version)

Money, money, money! Everyone wants it. Everyone NEEDS it. But we should not be CONSUMED with it, we shouldn't make money our main focus in life. Our main focus should be God and serving God, not money and how much we can make. Most of us our blessed with all we need as far as clothes, food and a place to live. What more do we need? We get so consumed with "things" we "want" that we forget to be thankful for the things we are already blessed with. And life isn't about "things" anyway...remember that.

  • We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him

We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love
him, who have been called according to his purpose.
    Romans 8:28

Sometimes things happen in life that we don't understand. We wonder
why we go through things we'd rather not go through. Sometimes it's
easier to dwell on the bad things, instead of focusing on the good. But whenever we do go through hard times, we need to remember what
Romans 8:28 says, that all things God works for the GOOD of those who
love Him.Our life is like a puzzle, many pieces fitting together. God can see
the finished puzzle all put together, but we can't. We see a puzzle
piece and try to force it into place and when it doesn't fit, we get
frustrated. Or we see a puzzle piece falling into place that we don't
want put there at that time and we scream "no, NO!!!"
But if we could see the finished puzzle all put together, we would
understand why things happened when they did.So the next time you're going through something unpleasant, something
you'd rather not be going through...remember that it's just a piece in
the puzzle of your life, and everything will work out the way it
    should, all for your good.

  • Every detail of your life...

The LORD directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives." (Psalm 37:23)

How amazing is it that God delights in EVERY DETAIL of your life. Sometimes people don't pray about the small things because they think God doesn't care about the little things, but it says right here that He delights in EVERY DETAIL. That includes the small ones! So talk to God about EVERY DETAIL of your life and commit everything you do to Him...even the small things. Because he cares about you and delights in every detail of your life.

  • When the whole wide world is still asleep...

    I think about you
       before I go to sleep,
and my thoughts turn to you
       during the night.
        You have helped me,
       and I sing happy songs
in the shadow of your wings.
    Psalm 63:6-7

It's such a comfort to know that even during those dark quiet hours in the middle of the night when we wake and the rest of the world seems asleep that God is always awake and always with us. We are never alone. God is always there and listening to us. So the next time you wake in the middle of the night, remember you're not alone, God is with you...so talk to Him. Tell Him what's on your mind. What's troubling you? What are you happy about? What are you needing wisdom and direction for? Talk to God as if He were right there in the room with you - because He is.

  • A fool finds...

A fool finds no pleasure in understanding but delights in airing his own opinions.

    Proverbs 18:2

We should always take the time to really listen to others and respect their opinions, even when their opinions differ from our own. You can agree to disagree, but always do take the time to at least listen to someone. It shows people that you respect them when you take the time to listen to them. Don't just air your own opinion and cut others off, because then you truly will appear to other's as a fool. So respect other's, and REALLY listen to them...and it's then you will be wise.

  • If you...

"If you have two coats, give one to someone who doesn't have any. If you have food, share it with someone else."

    Luke 3:11 (Contemporary English Version)

Lately everyone has been talking about the economy in the US and how bad it is right now. And it's true, it's much worse now then it has been. But here's the thing...most of us still have food, clothes, and a place to live. Instead of focusing on what we don't have, we should focus on what we DO have any realize that so many people in other countries are going to bed hungry or don't even have a bed to sleep in or clothes to wear. In the US we are blessed far beyond measure, and even through the economy here isn't as good as it used to be - we are still living comfortably for the most part and should count our blessings every day, and share what we have with other's in need. Most of us have MORE then enough clothes and food that we can share with those in need.

  • A simple man believes anything, but a prudent man gives thought to his steps.

A simple man believes anything, but a prudent man gives thought to his steps.(Prv 14:15)

It's definitely wise to not just believe everything you hear but to really pray and think about things before deciding.
And it's always good to think hard before making a step, whether it's a big step or small - both steps lead you somewhere and it's wise to pray about where you are going and what you are doing. Pray and think deeply about every decision that you make and always commit everything you to unto the Lord and remember God is with you, guiding your steps. You don't have to make any decision alone and shouldn't - always ask the Lord to lead you, and He will. Also consult your christian friends or family members - sometimes they can see things we can't and God can use other's to give us wisdom as well.

  • Work - and relax!

Work the first six days of the week, but rest and relax on the seventh day.

    Exodus 23:12 (Contemporary English Version)

Taking a day of rest is SO important! And yet we can easily get so busy with our daily tasks that before we know it our weekends are all booked up too - not leaving any time for rest. Make sure you take a little time each week to rest. You need to get refreshed and renewed so that you can continue working and serving the Lord! If you don't take the time you need to rest and recharge, you will end up burning out. So make you schedule in some rest time - and you won't regret it!

  • The skies display his craftsmanship.

The heavens proclaim the glory of God.
          The skies display his craftsmanship.

    Psalm 19:1 (New Living Translation)

Whenever I see a beautiful sunset or sunrise, I'm reminded of God's beautiful craftsmanship. How He created everything and designed it, not only in nature but us as humans too! I'm constantly amazed at the beauty and wonder of God's creation. And how He is so big and we're so small, and yet He loves us...He created us and has plans for us...we're his masterpiece, his work of art and he designed each and every one of us humans and has great plans to see us prosper. So rejoice today in knowing that God, creator of heaven and earth, created you and has plans for you.
