  • Those who did not fail with words would be perfect people - James 3:2

Those who did not fail with words would be perfect people - James 3:2

That makes me feel a lot better about all the times I've said the wrong thing. We're human. Sometimes we won't always say the right thing. No one is perfect! So the next time you say something you regret, just say you are sorry and move on and try to think more next time before you speak. Really thinking before we speak will help us say less that we regret, although every once in a while we may still slip up. No one's perfect! So don't let that get you down. Instead of focusing on what you SHOULD have said, focus instead on what you CAN say NEXT time.

  • He will pick up the pieces

God, your God, will restore everything you lost; he'll have compassion on you; he'll come back and pick up the pieces from all the places where you were scattered.

    Deuteronomy 30:3 MSG

Maybe you feel like your life is in pieces right now...maybe your heart has been broken or you're struggling financially or with an illness. Whatever your problem is, pray about it and know that the Lord will bring restoration. He will restore you. He will pick up all the pieces of your life that have been scattered and put them back together again, even stronger then they were before! Don't lose hope. There IS restoration through our heavenly father...so trust in Him, and commit to Him every part of your life. He will restore you.

  • There is Freedom

For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

2 Corinthians 3:17 (New Living Translation)

You can be free from ANYTHING. There is freedom in Christ and He can give you the strength you need to be free from whatever it is that is tying you down. Sin, fear, depression, financial or relationship problems. Whatever you need to be free from commit it to the Lord and ask Him to set you free, knowing that He can give you the strength. There is NOTHING that is too difficult for you through Christ. BE FREE!!!

  • Even fools are thought wise when they're silent

    Even fools are thought wise when they keep silent;
with their mouths shut, they seem intelligent.

    Proverbs 17:28 (New Living Translation)

Sometimes, it really is best just to keep our mouth shut and not always say whatever we're thinking. Especially in times of anger, it's best to hold our tongue and pray about it and cool off some before addressing the issue. Also we shouldn't talk about ourselves too much, it's much better to ask questions to see how other's are doing and listen to them then to prattle on and on about yourself. You will regret it if you say too much and end up saying something you shouldn't. Really think before you speak and choose your words wisely and you'll regret a lot less!

  • God's way of preparing us

All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It straightens us out and teaches us to do what is right. It is God's way of preparing us in every way, fully equipped for every good thing God wants us to do.
2 Timothy 3:16-17  (New Living Translation)

So many people feel confused about their life and what they should do and what's wrong in their lives. God's word, the bible, is like a map God left us on how to live our lives. It teaches us what is right and what is wrong, it prepares us and equips us for living in this messed up world filled with confusion. Have peace and clarity in the midst of a chaotic world. Get equipped - stay in God's word daily and you truly will gain wisdom and learn what is right and what is wrong in your life. Let God prepare you and encourage you through out every day that you live here on the earth - spend time in the bible every day and you really will be inspired.

  • God will help you deal

    Matthew 6:34 (The Message)
34"Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don't get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.

So often we can get stressed out with worry about the future. But we shouldn't get so worked up about what may or may not even happen. And it's such a comfort to know that whatever does happen, God will always help you deal with whatever hard things come our way. We don't have to face anything alone, God will ALWAYS help us through it and will not let us go through anything that we can't handle. Remember, you're not in this alone. God is always there and always helping you.

  • Confess your sins & pray for each other

Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.
    James 5:16 New International Version

Confessing your sin and praying with fellow believers is such an important part of our daily walk with the Lord.

We all have certain areas that we struggle in more than other's, and satan will try to tempt you in the area he knows you are weakest in. Think about yourself right now and what sin is it that you are tempted by and may be struggling with temptation? Don't just keep it to yourself, it's important to tell a fellow believer and ask them to hold you accountable to ask you how you are doing with this on a regular basis and to pray for you and encourage you. There is POWER in prayer and in accountability with fellow believers. If you aren't already plugged into a good church get plugged into one, and don't just go on sundays get in a small group too where you build closer friendships with fellow believers that can hold you accountable and pray for you when you are struggling or tempted.

  • He who walks with the wise grows wise

He who walks with the wise grows wise.

    Prov. 13:20 Niv

That old saying "birds of a feather flock together" is very true. We tend to become like who we surround ourselves with. So really take a look at your friends and the people you are hanging out with the most. Would you consider them wise? If not, you may to to consider making some new friends. I mean you do want to be a good influence on those that need it and be a good witness, but there's a different in doing that every once in a whle and hanging with someone 24/7. Who do you hang out with the MOST? Where do you hang out together and what are you doing? Are they making wise decisions in their own life? Sometimes we can become numb to the stupid things our friends are doing to where it doesn't bother us anymore, and eventually, we could start doing those same stupid things, even sinful things are things that are bad for our health. Surround yourself with people you consider wise and you truly will grow wiser yourself, but surround yourself with dumb people and you will most likely become dumb, too.

  • Whatever you need...

And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious
    riches in Christ Jesus.
        -- Philippians 4:19

Sometimes we can get stressed out with all of life's problems...finances...relationships...jobs...school...etc. But instead of getting stressed and worrying about every problem we're faced with we should pray, give whatever it is you're worrying about to God and trust in Him that he WILL help you, and will meet ALL your needs. So whatever you're in need of right now, healing, finances, restoration in a relationship, whatever your need is...commit it to the Lord and ask Him for help, knowing that he WILL meet all of your needs.

  • Keep your eyes on Jesus...

Peter answered him, Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water. He said, Come. So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water and came to Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, Lord, save me.
    Matthew 14:28-30

Notice that Peter didn't start to sink until he took his took his attention off Jesus and started to focus on the wind and his fear. Hard times are going to come - but making it through them without sinking can be much easier if your eyes are on the right thing. Keep your eyes on Jesus, and not on whatever it is you're afraid of. And sometimes God will call you out of your comfort zone, like he called Peter out of the boat and unto the water. It can be scary leaving our comfort zone, but just keep your eyes on Jesus - and He will help you make it!
