It's better to obey the LORD
and have only a little,
than to be very rich
and terribly confused.
Proverbs 15:16 (Contemporary English Version)
So many people try to buy happiness. But happiness can't be bought. Everyone has a void that only God can fill, and when you try to fill that void with anything else, you're left feeling confused and unsatisfied. Find true happiness through Christ!

Trouble?
When you are in trouble, call out to me. I will answer and be there
to protect and honor you.
Psalm 91:15 (Contemporary English Version)
God doesn't promise that we will never get into trouble. But he DOES promise that He will be there for us when we DO get into trouble. So whatever kind of trouble you may be in, CALL out to the Lord. And know that He is ALWAYS there for you and will help you out of whatever kind of trouble you're in, no matter how big or small your troubles are, the Lord cares about you and every kind of trouble that you have. So whatevers troubling you today, pray about it...ask the Lord for help, and know that He WILL help you. -
Bad Company
Don't let me so much as dream of evil
or thoughtlessly fall into bad company.
And these people who only do wrong—
don't let them lure me with their sweet talk!
May the Just One set me straight,
may the Kind One correct me,
Don't let sin anoint my head.
I'm praying hard against their evil ways!
Psalm 141:4 (The Message)
Who are you spending the most time with? Who is your best friend? Who are your group of friends that you hang out with the most? Are they people who are constantly doing wrong? That old saying "birds of a feather flock together" is really true. So take a good look at the people you spend the most time with and ask yourself if they are reflecting Christ and doing good, or have you fallen thoughtlessly into bad company? -
Overcome
For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has
overcome the world, even our faith.1 John 5:4
No matter what problems you may be faced with, God will help you overcome them. There is NOTHING too difficult for you through Christ. He will help you through out every day that you live here on the earth, and help you solve each and every problem you're faced with. So don't get stressed out by all of the bumps in the road, or all of the mountains you have to climb in life, because God will help you climb each and every mountain that you're faced with! No matter how hard the climb is, you WILL make it to the top! Just trust in God, and know that you aren't alone, that He is with you, helping you take each step.

Selflessness
We should think about others and not about ourselves.
1 Corinthians 10:24
We live in a society where "putting yourself first" is actually encouraged, when what we should be doing is the opposite...being SELFLESS instead of SELFISH! Putting other's needs above our own. Serving other's and taking last place instead of first, letting other's go before us and helping other's in every way that we can. So often people try to climb their way to the top not caring who they step on or hurt to get there. Now that doesn't mean that we shouldn't try our best, we should try our best in every situation, but we can do so WITH OUT pushing other's out of the way or hurting other's to get to the top. Put other's first and then you will really be blessed!

Open the door...
Listen! I am standing and knocking at your door. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in and we will eat together.
Revelation 3:20 (Contemporary English Version)
God is always there, ready and waiting to spend time with us. All we have to do is open the door. Don't get so busy and distracted by your daily obligations that you forget to spend time with God. Spending time with God is SO important, it draws us closer to Him...gives us wisdom, direction and PEACE in our daily lives. Put God first on your to do list every day, and you won't regret it!

Wait without giving up...
You must be willing to wait without giving up. After you have done what God wants you to do, God will give you what He promised you.
Hebrews 10:36 (New Life Version)
Things don't always happen right when we want it too. But don't give up. Keep on waiting, and praying, and trust the Lord that His timing is SO much better then our own, and He knows what's best for us better then we do. So the next time something doesn't happen right when you want it to, instead of feeling frustrated and giving up, keep on praying about it, and wait without giving up.

Time
Teach us to make the most of our time, so that we may grow in wisdom.
Psalm 90:12
How do you spend a majority of your time? We tend to get so busy living our life day to day that sometimes we can let spending time with God be put on the back shelf when really that should be number one on our list every day. Because in order to stay close to God and to grow even closer to Him, we need to make an effort to spend time with Him daily. Read the bible, pray, worship...spend quiet time with God each day. Because just as if you were trying to get to know a person better you would spend time with them, or just if you are close to someone then you stop spending time with them and drift apart, it's the same with God. If you don't spend time with Him, you will drift further away from Him, but the more time you spend with Him, the closer to Him you will be. So make the most of your time, put spending time with God first every day, and you won't regret it!

Love of the world squeezes out love for the Father.
Don't love the world's ways. Don't love the world's goods. Love of the world squeezes out love for the Father. Practically everything that goes on in the world—wanting your own way, wanting everything for yourself, wanting to appear important—has nothing to do with the Father. It just isolates you from him. The world and all its wanting, wanting, wanting is on the way out—but whoever does what God wants is set for eternity.
1 John 2:17
We tend to place far too much value in "things". When in the end, "things" don't matter. We can't take anything with us when we leave this earth. What really matters is loving God, not loving things. Loving things truly does squeese out love of the Father. Make sure you don't let any "thing", or "anyone" take God's place in your heart. Because in the end, it's all about God.

Set a guard over my mouth, O LORD!
“Set a guard over my mouth, O LORD: keep watch over the door of my lips.”
Psalm 141:3
This would be a great prayer for EVERYONE to pray every day. How often do you say something you instantly regret? So often we reply too quickly with out thinking first about what we're about to say. Is what we're going to say be a benefit to those who listen? If it's not, we should keep our mouth shut! And if that's something you really struggle with, write Psalm 141:3 out somewhere that you can see it every day and be reminded to act as if there was truly a guard over your mouth, watching everything you say.
