  • Walk in the brightness

    Our LORD, you bless those
       who join in the festival
       and walk in the brightness
       of your presence.

    Psalm 89:15 (Contemporary English Version)

Spending time in the Lord's presence truly is like joining a festival...when you spend time with the Lord you are filled with His peace, joy and wisdom. If you don't already spend time in the presence of the Lord every day, I encourage you to make it a daily habit, like brushing your teeth or showering. Spend time in the bible, in prayer, in silence...bask in the presence of the Lord every day and you truly will be refreshed, recharged and renewed each and every day. If you've been feeling out of fuel lately maybe you it's time to fill up on the bread of life! Spend some time with God...you won't regret it.

  • Be willing to associate with...

Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position.

    Do not be conceited.

    Romans 12:16

Everyone is created equal and God loves each one of us the same. No one is "better" than anyone else. We should always be willing to associate with all types of people from all types of backgrounds, not people "just like us" but all kinds. We are not better than anyone else. We all have flaws. We all have strengthes, and we all have weaknesses. The next time you start to find yourself feeling proud or like you're better than anyone else, remember that God loves that person just as much as He loves you, and you should love them the same way.

  • Nothing is too hard...

“O Sovereign Lord! You made the heavens and earth by your strong hand and powerful arm. Nothing is too hard for you!"!

    Jeremiah 32:17 (New Living Translation)

Sometimes we are faced with problems in life that seem too difficult for us. Remember that NOTHING is too difficult for God...and He will help us solve ALL problems that we are faced with, if we only turn to Him. When we try to solve the problems on our own with out giving everything to God, that's when we tend to mess things up and get frustrated. Give Him whatever your problem is...big or small, He will help you solve it.

  • Don't be a hater!

Don't be hateful to people, just because they are hateful to you. Rather, be good to each other and to everyone else.

    1 Thessalonians 5:15

When people are hateful to us it's easy to respond in that same way, but we should actually do the opposite. By responding in love when someone is hateful to us, it let's them see God's love in us. Because God loves us, even though we don't deserve to be loved. So when we love people who don't deserve to be loved, it makes them wonder why...and gives them a glimpse of God in us. So be a light in today's dark society - spread the love of God through your actions - respond kindly when you're treated badly. Turn the other cheek when slapped. Compliment someone who insults you. Help someone who has offended you. Care about someone who doesn't care about you. Love people unconditionally, and they truly will see a glimpse of God's love in you!

  • To know me...

I'd rather for you to be faithful
       and to know me
       than to offer sacrifices.

    Hosea 6:6

Sometimes we can so busy doing this for the Lord that we spend more time doing things for Him the we actually spend with Him. Serving is important, we should always take time to serve the Lord and to do things for Him, but we should first and foremost simply spend time WITH HIM every day. In prayer. In the bible. In silence before the Lord. Simply spending time with God each day is such an important part of our relationship with Him...just as it's important in relationships with people to spend time with them. If you're wanting to get to know someone better you spend time with someone. If you're wanting to keep a relationship strong, you spend time with that person. It's the same with God. Make sure that you don't get so busy doing things for God that you forget to spend time WITH Him.

  • Watch what you say...

You will say the wrong thing
       if you talk too much--
       so be sensible and watch
       what you say.

    Proverbs 10:19

We've all said things we regret, and it's usually when we don't think before we speak and we just immediately spew out whatever we're thinking - doing this often will get us into trouble! We should try our best to hold our tongue, especially in times of anger, and to really pray and think about what we say before we say it. And if you struggle with that, post Proverbs 10:19 somewhere that you will see it every day and be reminded  to watch what you say....then you may say less that you regret.

  • God's plans

"No eye has seen, no ear has heard,
          and no mind has imagined
       what God has prepared
          for those who love him.”

    1 Corinthians 2:9

How amazing is it to think that God, creator of heaven and earth, has plans for us? Plans greater than we can even imagine! Just think...he CREATED you...he created heaven and earth...He can create plans for you that you could never even dream up! So when the plans you make for yourself fail, remember, God has far greater plans in store for you...so trust in Him, knowing that He has better plans then you.

  • Don't get tired of helping others...

Don't get tired of helping others. You will be rewarded when the time is right, if you don't give up.

    Galatians 6:9

Sometimes when we help someone and don't see immediate results, we can get frustrated and feel like giving up. But we should never give up! Keep on helping others, and when the time is right, you'll get those results. And sometimes we may not ever fully know just how much we really helped someone and how much our help meant to them...it could mean more than you'll ever know! So don't give up - keep  on helping other's!

  • In the same way...

You've sent me and loved them In the same way you've loved me.

    John 17:23

How amazing is it that God loves us in the same way that He loves Jesus? He loves us as much as He loves His own son!!! So much that He sent his son to die for our sins so that we could spend eternity in heaven with them. I am constantly amazed of how great the Father's love is for us...He truly loves us as His own children, his sons and daughters...just like He loves Jesus. It doesn't matter that we are undeserving of His love - He chooses to love us anyways - because we are His children.

  • Pride

    Pride ends in humiliation,
          while humility brings honor.

    Proverbs 29:23

The one saying "Pride comes before a fall" is really true. The moment we start to let pride take over is usually right before we fall flat on our face! We should always try to stay humble and remember that we are never better than anyone else, we'll all created equal and God loves all of us the same, no matter how "good" at something you may be or how good of a person even, no one is perfect. We all have flaws. So the next time you start to feel proud just remember that - be careful - you may fall flat on your face!
