  • Help

So whenever we are in need, we should come bravely before the throne of our merciful God. There we will be treated with undeserved kindness, and we will find help.

    Hebrews 4:16 (Contemporary English Version)

Whatever it is that you need, whether it's wisdom and direction in making a decision, or healing or a financial blessing or relationship problems, whatever your problem is, go before the Lord in prayer. Pray about whatever it is that you need, knowing that God IS merciful and kind even though we don't deserve His kindness, He still loves us and treats us kindly anyway. He WILL help you, no matter how big or small your problem is. So whatever it is that is worrying you today, give it to God. Ask Him for help, and He WILL help you.

  • Does your life match your words?

If someone claims, "I know him well!" but doesn't keep his commandments, he's obviously a liar. His life doesn't match his words. But the one who keeps God's word is the person in whom we see God's mature love. This is the only way to be sure we're in God. Anyone who claims to be intimate with God ought to live the same kind of life Jesus lived.

    1 John 2:6 (The Message)

Anyone can SAY they live for God, but their actions speak far louder than words. If you claim you live for God but then live to please yourself, not following God but just following whatever way you want to go doing whatever you want to do, making yourself in charge of your life instead of surrendering to God and living to please Him, then it's going to be obvious who you are really living for. Actions really do speak far louder than words.

  • Coming to your senses

From the four corners of the earth
people are coming to their senses,
          are running back to God.
       Long-lost families
are falling on their faces before him.

    Psalm 22:27 (The Message)

Sometimes, we get so distracted by our daily schedules that we put God on the back shelf and slowly drift away from Him...then we find ourself  farther away from Him then we were before and we wonder what happened. If you find yourself feeling far away from God it's time to come to your senses, to run back to God...fall on your face before Him and repent for not putting Him first in your life. It doesn't matter how long you may have been gone, God will always welcome you back with open arms, He will always take you back...for He loves you more than you can even imagine. It's time to come to your senses...put God first in your life if He isn't already, and if you think He is already, you can always do more to make Him even more at the top of your list.

  • No one slips through the cracks

    God's love is meteoric,
          his loyalty astronomic,
       His purpose titanic,
          his verdicts oceanic.
       Yet in his largeness
          nothing gets lost;
Not a man, not a mouse,
          slips through the cracks.

    Psalm 36:5-6

I really love these verses. How amazing is it that God has his eye on EVERYONE and EVERYTHING. Not a man, or a mouse, slips through the cracks unnoticed by Him. God is SO big and we're so small, and yet not only does He notice each of us, He CREATED each of us and LOVES each of us as His own child. He cares about every detail of your life, down the smallest one. Nothing slips through the cracks with God...nothing.

  • How to live...

Everything in the Scriptures is God's Word. All of it is useful for teaching and helping people and for correcting them and showing them how to live.

2 Timothy 3:16 (Contemporary English Version)
Have you ever wished that you had a map from God on how to live your life? Well you do! The bible is called God's word because that is what it is...God's word. It teaches us and corrects us, shows us what is right and wrong and guides us on how to live. So if you need some wisdom and direction on how to live your life or if you're trying to figure out your purpose,  spend some extra time in God's word. Make it a daily habit to spend time in the bible if you don't already, and if you already do, then spend even more time. You won't  regret it!

  • Help each other

Help each other in troubles and problems. This is the kind of law Christ asks us to obey. -Galatians 6:2

It is such a blessing to help those we see in trouble. Not only does it bless the person we are helping, but it also blesses God when we do that, who in return blesses us! It's like a blessing cycle. But you have to keep the cycle going! Don't just be selfish and live your life for you alone - live for God, and help people in need!

  • When things are taken away...

Give what you have to anyone who asks you for it; and when things are taken away from you, don't try to get them back.

    Luke 6:30

I think most of us do the opposite of what this verse is telling us to do. If someone takes something away from us we usually not only take it back but usually not very nicely, either. And this doesn't always apply just to things, either...what about relationships? Has someone ever broken up with you and you couldn't let them go, chasing them trying to convince them to come back to you yet unable to change their mind? It's always best to just let go and let God. Let God handle things. Whether it's a "thing" that's been taken away from you, or a person...whenever anything or anyone is taken away...let go, and let God.

  • We belong to Him

You know the LORD is God!
       He created us,
       and we belong to him;
       we are his people,
       the sheep in his pasture.

    Psalm 100:3 (Contemporary English Version)

It's such a comfort to know that God is always watching over us, just as a shepherd watches over his sheep. God created you and loves you and watches over you no matter where you go. And whenever you start to wonder off He comes along with you and guides you back on to the trail. Loving you even when you get into trouble and He has to come rescue you again and help you back on track. We aren't deserving of His love but he loves us anyways, just as that shepherd loves his sheep, even the ones that get into trouble or are constantly wondering off track...he goes after them each time, bringing them back to Him, into His loving arms.

  • Don't lazily slip back into those old grooves of evil

So roll up your sleeves, put your mind in gear, be totally ready to receive the gift that's coming when Jesus arrives. Don't lazily slip back into those old grooves of evil, doing just what you feel like doing. You didn't know any better then; you do now. As obedient children, let yourselves be pulled into a way of life shaped by God's life, a life energetic and blazing with holiness. God said, "I am holy; you be holy.

    1 Peter 1:13 (The Message)

Do you reflect Christ in the way you live? Can other's see any difference in you from the world? Or have you lazily slipped back into your old ways of evil, doing whatever you feel like doing? You didn't know better before you were saved...you know better now. That voice inside the back of your mind telling you it's wrong is the holy spirit, convicting you of your sin. We can't just do everything we want to do because some things we want are wrong or sinful. We need to live a life of holiness so that other's can see that we are different, can see a reflection of God in us. Now of course we can't be perfect, there will be times you slip up. But the important thing is to REALIZE it and to stop and repent and get back on the right track towards God.

  • Lies...

Do not tell lies about others.

    Exodus 20:16 (Contemporary English Version)

Sometimes people lie with out even realizing it. Maybe you're telling an entertaining story about someone, and you embellish it or add a little to make it more interesting...and then the next person that hears it does the same thing, and so on and so on till the story becomes completely false and there is no truth in it at all, it becomes a complete lie. There is no such thing as a good lie. Even if you think you are lying "for someone's good" in the end, it's only going to cause trouble, NOT good, but bad. So the next time you are tempted to stretch the truth or add on to anything, remember, that a lie is a lie, no matter how small or big or how "good" or "entertaining" it may appear.
