  • Afraid

You, Lord, are the light that keeps me safe. I am not afraid of anyone.

    Psalm 27:1

What or who are you afraid of? Don't be afraid, but know that God is with you. And will help you deal with whatever or whoever you're afraid. He will give you the strength you need, the courage, the wisdom & direction. So take a minute and think about it, what are you afraid of? Then pray and give it to God and trust in Him knowing He will help you face that fear.

  • Out of your control

The sun rises and the sun sets, and travels in a hurry to the place where it rises.

    Ecclesiastes 1:5 (New Life Version)

These verses are describing something over which we have no control - the rising and the setting of the sun.
So every time you see a sunrise, or sunset, be reminded that as other circumstances happen outside of your control, someone a lot more capable than you has His eye on them. So try and trust and rest in that. God controls the setting and raising of the sun and moon; so rest assured that God will take care of you, too!

  • You, Lord, protect me

I pray to you, and you answer from your sacred hill. I sleep and wake up refreshed because you, LORD, protect me.

    Psalm 3:4-5

It's such a comfort to know that God is always listening when we pray, and He is always there, watching over us, protecting us, loving us. So the next time you pray and wonder is God really listening? Remember that He IS listening, He is ALWAYS listening! So pray. Pray now, pray tomorrow, pray every day.

  • Scripture

Instead you thrill to God's Word,
you chew on Scripture day and night.

    Psalm 1:2-3

Reading the bible every day is such an important part of our walk with the Lord. It feeds our soul. Just like food feeds the body, God's word feeds our soul, our mind, our spirit. It helps to grow and to stay healthy in our relationship with God. So make reading the bible a daily habit, like eating breakfast or dinner, chew on scripture daily and feed your soul - you won't regret it!

  • Accepting each other

Honor God by accepting each other, as Christ has accepted you. Romans 15:7

God has accepted us, even though we are unworthy. He has forgiven us, though we don't deserve it. He loves us, though we aren't deserving of His love. When we accept other people despite their flaws, it shows them God's love in us. Nobody is perfect. Every human on the earth is flawed - it's part of being human. We shouldn't judge other's or think of ourself as better than anyone else because we are not. We are all equal in God's eyes and should love everyone equally despite the mistakes they have made in the past or their flaws. You can tell someone you disagree with what they are doing but still love them. Love them - not their actions. Let someone see God's love and acceptance in you today.

  • Anger

And “don’t sin by letting anger control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry,  for anger gives a foothold to the devil.

    Ephesians 4:26-27

Sometimes, people are going to make you angry, it's just part of being human. But the key is not to let anger control you. Not letting anger win. Control your anger. Hold your tongue, and pray, asking God to give you the right words to say to bring peace in the situation. It's okay to disagree with someone, but you can agree to disagree in a peaceful way without anger and hateful words. So the next time you find yourself angry, PRAY. Don't let anger control you, you control anger, through Christ who'll give you strength.

  • Poison or fruit?

    Words kill, words give life;
they're either poison or fruit—you choose.

    Proverbs 18:21

The words that we speak to people daily can have a greater effect on them then we'll ever know. Are you speaking words that will encourage, build up, give life? Or words that will tare down, crush, poison? Our goal should be to bring out the best in someone in a conversation and not the worst. Choose your words wisely, and you'll regret a lot less of what you say.

  • Hot coals

Can a man walk on hot coals, and his feet not be burned?

    Proverbs 6:28

In our society sin has become the norm. It's in movies, tv, music, it's everywhere. What used to be considered horrible has become acceptable, even among christians. As Christians we should take a stand for what is right and what is wrong. We shouldn't just blend in with the world, but we should stand out by living our life for Christ and not for ourself. We can't do whatever we want with out being burned - hot coals burn - sin burns. Live for God, not for the world.

  • Who do you walk with?

He who walks with the wise grows wise.

    Prov. 13:20

Who do you spend time with the most? Who do you spend your free time with? Are they wise? Or foolish? You know that old saying "birds of a feather flock together" is true. We often become like those that we surround ourself with. Now of course this doesn't mean we should only spend time with people just like us, because we do want to be a good witness to those that aren't wise. But the key is not to spend every waking minute with them and not to join them in acts of foolishness but to stand strong and be wise and to surround ourself with people who are wise and will encourage us to become wiser and not more foolish.

  • Nothing can be hidden...

The eyes of the Lord are in every place, watching the bad and the good.

    Proverbs 15:3 (New Life Version)

What do you do when you think no one is watching? Remember, God is ALWAYS watching....both the good, and the bad. There are no secrets that God doesn't know. Remember when you are alone, you aren't really alone. God is always there, watching you. He knows your every thought, your every word, your every action. Nothing can be hidden from Him.
